Online-only Quilt Coat Workshop

If you haven't been able to attend an in-person workshop with Teresa, this is the next best thing!  You'll be able to make the quilt coat of your choice: Elemental Coat, Elemental Kids Coat or the Journeyman Jacket.  

What you'll get: 
 • the opportunity to ask questions and get immediate feedback
 • additional education on a variety of topics including seam finishes (Hong Kong, French, overlocked, etc)
 • layout brainstorming session and inspiration by others’ designs/layouts
 • instruction on making a quilt coat reversible
 • information on working with various ages of quilts, as well as quilted and un-quilted fabrics
 • guidance on creating pieces specifically for a quilt coat
 • learning garment sewing lexicon and reasoning (understitching, topstitching, seam allowance, flat fell seams, etc)
 • understanding of the historical significance of quilted garments
 • hands-on demonstrations of techniques and tips for construction 
 • personal lessons based on individual fabric and style choices, and more.

Meetings:

• January 18: Prep meeting
• February 8: Coat construction
• February 15: Coat construction
• February 22: Bonus workshop, optional 

Virtual Workshop Details:

• Workshops are taught by designer Teresa Coates, live from my studio. 
• Workshop is held on Zoom and will be recorded for students who get behind or have to miss a class. They will be available to watch in the Dream Team community. 
• A link for the Zoom room will be emailed the day before class using the email included when you sign up.
